Abstract

ABSTRACT

The emergence of increasingly advanced technology requires humans to optimize intellectual and moral aspects. Education has an important role in producing a generation with high intellectual and noble morals. Islamic Religious Education is the basis that refers to the source of truth of values ​​that can lead to the goals of character education, which is a necessity for the Indonesian nation. This study aims to examine character education through Islamic Religious Education in the digital era. The method used in this study is qualitative with a literature review study type. Researchers analyzed written literature as the main source, including books, research journals, and seminar proceedings. From the literature review, it was found that character education through Islamic Religious Education is based on religious values, Pancasila, culture, and national education goals. The implementation of morals (character) in Islamic Religious Education is carried out through teaching, role models, habits, coercion, and punishment to foster student character.
