Abstract

The Principal of SMPN 1 Pasir Limau Kapas, in coordination with the Rokan Hilir Regency Education Office as the organizer of formal education in schools in the region, has attempted to improve the quality of management, one of which is by implementing a teacher performance improvement program. This study uses a qualitative method with an evaluative approach. The program evaluation technique, namely the context, input, process, and product (CIPP) model, was chosen because it can be applied before and during a program, as well as after the program ends. This study involved 33 teachers as informants in addition to other primary sources, namely officials from the Rokan Hilir Regency Education Office and School Supervisors. The results of the study indicate that the teacher performance improvement program at SMPN 1 Pasir Limau Kapas, organized by the School Principal, School Supervisors, and the Rokan Hilir Education Office, has been running quite well, seen from all aspects including context, input, process, and product, which is in the moderate category. Efforts are still needed to develop teacher competencies, as well as coaching for promotion guidance and teacher functional positions after certification. Another thing that needs to be considered is the absence of clear standard operating procedures for program support staff, so that the ability of implementing staff to carry out their functions is still less than optimal
